POSITIVE OUTLOOK TONIC

You can give yourself a nutritional context for inspiration and elation with fruits and herbs whose chemistry combines for happier attitude.
2 ounces Pineapple juice
4 ounces Orange juice
2 ounces Papaya nectar
2 dropper St. John’s wort
2 dropper Kavakava
2 ounces seltzer

Pour the pineapple and orange juices and the papaya nectar into a tall glass. Stir to blend. Add St. John’s wort and Kavakava then stir in the seltzer.
Stir again and serve.

ACUPUNCTURE LESSENS DEPRESSION SYMPTOMS DURING PREGNANCY

Acupuncture appears to be an effective way to reduce depression symptoms during pregnancy, according to a first-of-its-kind study from Stanford University School of Medicine researchers. The study authors, led by Rachel Manber, PhD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, said they hope the results will raise awareness of the problem of depression during pregnancy and provide patients and physicians an alternative to antidepressants. YOGA, YOGA, YOGA……

Yoga, Yoga, Yoga…It’s a yoga jungle out there and I am one tree teaching, not preaching. I just realized that those two words are so similar. Pause and breathe.

This is my first time writing on a blog, so a little lightness here. Imagine the feeling of a coiled rope being tied around you getting tighter and tighter and not being able to move. I experienced this sensation a long time ago and my pottery teacher told me this story that has stayed with me. While he was in college he had a severe motorcycle accident. He was unconscious and lost some of his mathematical side of his brain. He couldn’t speak at the time but he could write and he wrote, I am one…and then wrote his name. He inspired me to stop trying to be perfect and experience what I was doing right in the here and now. “Just for a flash,” he would say, “Throw the piece on the ground and create from there.” Ugh, I still have that piece somewhere and I love it. IMMERSE YOUR FEET & SOOTHE YOUR SOUL

It has often been said that when your feet hurt, your whole body hurts. With a relaxing foot soak you can simply turn that around to induce relaxation from the toes up!

This natural essential oil blend stimulates blood circulation to refresh and revive your feet and body. Use a bucket or bowl large enough so water can cover the feet over the ankles.
Submerge your feet in warm water and add few drops of Juniper, Rosemary and Lavender essential oils.

SOOTHING EYE COMPRESS

Soothing Eye Compress

2 cups (500ml) water
2 teaspoons (10ml) of dried lavender buds or calendula petals

Directions: Bring the water to boil. Remove from heat add flowers and cover. Steep for 15 minutes, then place in the refrigerator and allow cooling for 1 hour. Strain. Keep refrigerated and use within 4 days.

Apply to a cotton pad. Press the pad onto closed eyelids and keep it on for at least 5 minutes. Do not use if you are allergic to lavender or calendula.

QI BAI GAO – brighten the skin facial wash

This facial wash can be used for regular skin care, especially for age/dark spots, facial discolorations, brightening the skin, and dry skin conditions.

Clean the below herbs, then grind them together into a fine powder. Mix the powder with egg white to form a thick paste and make into small balls. Sun dry the herbal ball.

Usage: After washing the face, take a small ball and dissolve it in a small container of warm water and apply to entire face and neck. Leave for few minutes then remove with damp towel and wash with cool water. Apply moisturizer. Use 2 to 3 times a week.

Ingredients:
1 gram of each herb
• Bai Zhi/ Angelica Dahurica root
• Bai lian/Ampelopsis japonica root
• Bai zhu/Atractylodes macrocephalae
• Bai fu zi/Typhonium Tuber
• Bai fu ling /Poria cocos fungus
• Bai ji/Tribulus terrestris fruit
